He got married to C Jeyabharathi and has a son and daughter He served as authorised Mother NGO Consultant in Rural Education and Development Society (REDS) for the project of ISM & H, which is funded by the World Bank to protect each and every system of medicine. He was also worked as honorary visiting lecturer in Saradha Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College, Kulasekaram.
Dr. Cheena had also rendered service to the Indian government as honorary consultant to Southern Railway, Madurai for 14 years. He has been elected twice in succession as a first-class committee gazette member of the Tamil Nadu Homeopathy Council, which is an advisory body to the government. He has also served as a member of the board of examiners in the council and conducted examinations for D.H.M.S., D.Pharm and refresher courses for registered medical practitioners.He was elected thrice as vice-president to the Qualified Homoeopaths of Madurai, and organised many CME programmes, seminars and camps.
As secretary to the Alumni Association of the Government Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Tirumangalam, he had organised the silver jubilee function of the college. He also renders service to the poor as a vice-president and research medical officer of Human Care and Homeopathic Research Centre, Madurai. As a president of Similia Health Academy, he organises seminars and CME programmes. Dr. Cheena has organised more than a hundred medical camps on Sundays in four districts in and around Madurai.
